We saw this on the news last nite and our hearts sunk. Let's hope it's a wake-up call that this can't keep happening!

My heart just aches when I hear about these stories, and I'm so tired of hearing about how mean kids can be. We raise our kids and set an example for appropriate behavior. That's our job as parents. I know how fearful we can be for our kids, but the fear is greater when you have a child with disabilities or a child who is different in some way. How we treat others matters, and we need to do better when we teach out kids about appropriate behavior.
Enormous pain for the Dad. I have been there, didn't handle it the way he did...but could have had the same reaction. Actually, it was kind of a cathartic moment for me watching him go off. Sad, but true.
I just discovered your blog but I wanted to say that this man lives 2 towns away from me and we have heard a lot about it here in the Orlando area. My heart immediately went out to him. I was upset he was arrested but the paper did say the other day he was cutting a deal so he would avoid jail time. More importantly, he is being asked to speak all across the country. I hope he continues to bring awareness to this rising problem.
